1 dead, another escapes arrest in Parañaque drug sting

ONE person died, while another escaped arrest during a buyout operation in the city of Parañaque on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, which resulted in the seizure of 61.2 million pesos of hydrochloride of methamphetamine (shabu).

The Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) said the drug seizure led to an armed encounter after the suspects resisted arrest.

Joe Marie Ordiales was killed in the clash, while his cohort, Arturo Santos, escaped arrest.

The operation was carried out in Barangay Don Galo by the PDEG in collaboration with elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Parañaque police.

During the operation, more or less nine kilos of shabu were seized.

The PDEG said the suspects are well-known distributors of illegal drugs who have ties to other drug syndicates in the country.

“They are quietly hiding illegal drugs on humidifiers, air fryers and other appliances,” he said.

The manhunt operation against Santos is ongoing. (SunStar Philippines)
