LUCENA CITY – Two drug trafficking suspects were arrested Saturday evening in the towns of Sariaya and Tiaong in Quezon province, police said on Sunday.
Quezon Police Chief Col. Joel Villanueva said anti-narcotics agents tackled 48-year-old Elmer Carandang after selling shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) San Francisco at Tiaong around 11:20 p.m.
He was seized three plastic bags of shabu worth P28,152 at the street market and accessories to sniff the shabu.
Anti-drug officers also arrested Christian Alvarez, 36, during another undercover operation at Barangay Pili in Sariaya at around 9.45pm.
The suspect donated 14 packets of methamphetamine with a market value of P27,776.
The suspects have been held in local police prisons and face charges of violating the 2002 Dangerous Drugs Act.
