A Galleon arrested in a police raid on Friday morning

GALION – For the third time in a week and a half, law enforcement officers have dismantled an alleged drug operation at Galion.

According to a press release issued Friday afternoon, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and METRICH have concluded a months-long investigation into suspected illegal drug trafficking and possession. The Crawford County Special Response Team executed the search warrant at 7:28 a.m. Friday at a residence at 317 Dawsett Avenue in Galion.

Law enforcement officers arrested Theodore Britt, 32, who resides at this address. Britt was the target of the investigation, according to the press release. Officers seized suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia during the raid.

Criminal charges are pending against Britt for drug and methamphetamine trafficking. Britt also had two active arrest warrants issued by Crawford County Municipal Court.

Britt is currently incarcerated at the Crawford County Justice Center. The reports will be forwarded to the Crawford County Attorney’s Office for consideration of the additional charges.

This matter is still under investigation by detectives from the Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday this week, the Galleon Police Department Special Investigation Unit and Crawford County Special Response Team arrested a man following a raid on a residence at 829 Harding Way West . Authorities arrested Daris Thompson, 55, Galion, during the raid.

Thompson has been charged with drug trafficking, a fourth degree felony, and illegal drug transport, a third degree felony. Officers seized suspected methamphetamines, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and undisclosed cash (less than $ 100).

On Wednesday, July 14, the Crawford County Special Response Team and METRICH raided a residence at 476 Fifth Avenue in Galion. Officers arrested Shawn Kouns, 49, and Teresa Howard, 47, who were the targets of the investigation.

Kouns has been charged with drug trafficking, a fourth degree felony. Howard has been charged with authorizing drug abuse, a fifth degree felony. During the search of the property, officers seized methamphetamines, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed sum of money.
