Qualification requirements for assessors and inspectors
Application for appraiser and inspector fees commission: To be completed and submitted by qualified applicants for a VA Assessor or Building Inspector. (Please see qualification requirements above)
To note: Applications for Building Inspectors are currently only being accepted for Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Property Inspectors.
- The Fee Panel Request Form is an easy to use and complete Adobe Acrobat PDF file. Once completed, the application is routed to the specific Regional Lending Center (RLC) with jurisdiction over the geographic area where you wish to be considered.
- Each RLC processes its own requests. If you wish to be considered in geographies served by multiple RLCs, separate applications must be submitted.
- Note for review applicants only: In box 18 of the application form, at least two of the three letters attesting to your qualifications must be from other reviewers.
Builder registration: The builder registration link will provide information on builder certification and the required forms needed to obtain a VA builder identification number. This ID is required to sell properties with VA financing. The manufacturer ID is issued when the required manufacturer information is received and registered with VA.
Registered Builders, Condominiums: This will take you to the Veterans Information Portal and, based on your credentials, you will be able to access lists of VA Registered Builders and VA Approved Condominiums across the United States.
Assessment fees and timeliness: A list by state, which indicates the expert fees and turnaround times, specific to a locality.
Local AV requirements: A list by state, which shows local AV requirements, specific to a locale, in addition to national requirements.
We are pleased to announce our new Personnel Assessment Reviewers (SAR) information page.
