Death of an 11-year-old girl by gunshot; Deputy Mendola calls for the rapid arrest of the accused

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): MP Ramesh Mendola went to the office of the Commissioner of Police (CP) on Friday and demanded the swift arrest of the person responsible for the shooting during a garba in the Hira Nagar area which resulted in the death of an 11-year-old girl, who had come there to watch the garba with her mother.

Mahi Shinde was watching the garba with her mother on Tuesday when a bullet hit her and killed her. Police have so far failed to identify the person who fired the fatal shot, but they believe the bullet came from a nearby building in a celebratory shooting.

Mendola said the incident was shocking and asked the commissioner to ensure police expedite the investigation. He said the crime rate was rising rapidly in the area and murders, stabbings and other personal crimes were occurring frequently.

He said the police must take strict measures against those who use drugs and other intoxicants, threaten and loot people after drinking. He also demanded an increase in police patrols.
