Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun Command called for greater synergy with sister agencies to control impaired driving, especially by operators of articulated vehicles.
Sector commander Ahmed Umar said this on Wednesday in Sango-Ota, Ogun state, when he spoke with the Nigeria News Agency (NAN).
He said synergy has become imperative because ensuring safety on the road is everyone’s responsibility.
Umar said that road safety must be jointly ensured by all stakeholders in the transport sector, just as he expressed his displeasure that some road accidents result from recklessness, impatience and carelessness. drunk driving.
âSynergy with sister agencies would drastically reduce the activities of these drunk drivers and achieve better results.
âIn addition, the FRSC does its best to subdue misguided drivers by apprehending them,â he said.
He said motorists should always make sure their vehicles are in good condition and that they must obey speed limits and traffic signs to stay alive.
Umar berated motorists who liked to drink alcohol and other intoxicants before getting behind the wheel to refrain as he reiterated the FRSC’s determination to apprehend drunk drivers to ensure road safety.
