September 24

Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident in the 800 block of Harding Way West. Officers issued a citation to one of the motorists for violating the assured free distance in front of them. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the scene.

Police are investigating a two-vehicle accident in the 200 block of East Payne Avenue. No injuries were reported. Both sides drove their vehicles away from the scene.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for a damaged tail light following a traffic stop near Harding Way West and Portland Way North.

Police are investigating a report of minors walking through an apartment complex and causing unrest in the 200 block of Libby Lane. Officers advised one of the minors to stay off the property.

Police investigated a report of unruly minors in Heise Park. School officials in the town of Galion informed officers that the two minors had been thrown from the football stadium where a match was underway. The two minors left the stadium. School officials informed officers that they would deal with the problem.

Police issued verbal warnings to a woman and a man for suspecting illegal drugs in their vehicle following a traffic stop near Harding Way East and Columbus Street. A K9 policeman indicated that there was a suspicious substance inside the vehicle. The police seized the suspected illegal substance and disposed of it. Officers also issued a citation to the female subject for a noisy exhaust system on her vehicle.

Police assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation at Amick Reservoir on State Route 309.

K9 Police assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation near South and Atwood streets. K9 indicated on a suspicious substance inside a vehicle. Suspected illegal drugs have been located. Police took information for a report.

Police have issued a verbal warning to a motorist for not having working tail lights following a traffic stop on the 700 block of Harding Way West.

Police issued verbal warnings to two male subjects for loud music after responding to a report of a disturbance in the 400 block of Grand Street.

Police investigated the report of a missing minor. Officers took the information for a report.

September 25

Police and EMS have responded to a report of an individual who fell and was injured in the 400 block of Harding Way East. The individual suffered a head injury.

Police are investigating a report from a suspicious person in the 400 block of Grove Avenue. The male subject is said to have looked through the windows of cars in this area.

Police arrested a wanted woman on a domestic violence warrant issued in Richland County. She was taken into custody after police responded to a report of a family dispute in the 100 block of Harding Way East. Police transferred the woman to the custody of the Mansfield Police Department.

Police investigated a report of minors threatening another miner in the 1400 block of Baeher Street. Officers provided additional patrols in the area.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for fictitious license plates following a traffic stop near South Boston and Walnut streets.

Police issued a ticket to a motorist for driving while suspended following a traffic stop near Erie Street and Gill Avenue.

Police seized suspected illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop near Harding Way East and South Street. Charges are pending against the subject who had the items in his possession.

September 26

Police arrested a man suspected of mishandling firearms inside a motor vehicle following a traffic stop near Mansfield Street and Harding Way East. Police discovered a loaded firearm inside the suspect’s vehicle. He was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for expired permit tags following a traffic stop near West Church and Union streets.

Police issued a verbal warning to a motorist for not having a functioning driver’s side brake light following a traffic stop near Portland Way South and Henry Street.

Police have issued a red light violation warning to a motorist following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Harding Way West.
