Lehigh Valley man wanted for years on drug charges repatriated from Florida, police say

A 40-year-old former Bethlehem man was expelled from Florida on Wednesday to face charges of selling illegal drugs with his wife in 2017 in the city, court documents show.

Christian Sinclair Day, whose address given in court documents is in the 2900 block of Westminster Road in Bethlehem, but he also had an address in the 1800 block of Hay Terrace in Wilson Borough, was arraigned before the judge on Wednesday evening of District John Capobianco, according to court documents. .

Day faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy to do the same, according to court documents. He is also charged with felonies of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.

Day’s wife, Jessica, 36, faces the same charges but has yet to be brought to justice, records show.

Christian Day was arrested in Martin County, Florida on the Lehigh Valley warrant and held for extradition, police said. He lived in Florida, police said. The Northampton County District Attorney’s Office has approved officers traveling to Florida to bring Christian Day back to court, police said.

The investigation was led by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Northampton County Drug Task Force, according to court documents. Bethlehem Township Police investigator Edward Fox led the investigation for the task force, according to court documents.

The Days were living in December 2017 in a house on the 900 block of Vernon Street in Bethlehem when authorities developed enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the residence, according to court documents.

The warrant was executed on December 7 of that year and alleged heroin, both packaged (two packs) and loose; suspected crack cocaine (three grams) and powder (15 grams, with a street value of about $1,500), cocaine and suspected marijuana were recovered, police said. Hundreds of bags of crystal and wax typically used to package drugs were found, along with a digital scale and $2,500 in cash, according to court documents.

Packaged heroin and cocaine were also found in Jessica Day’s purse, police said.

The drugs all tested positive in the field, police said.

Fox appeared before a district judge on June 19, 2018, to swear out warrants for Days on the charges, records show.

Police said the delay between serving the search warrant and signing the arrest warrants occurred because Christian Day initially cooperated with police in further investigation and then went stopped.

Day was jailed Wednesday night in Northampton County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for 11 a.m. May 17 in Easton Central Court, records show.

Day was unrepresented by counsel during his arraignment, the judge said.

Day’s wife contacted authorities through her attorney and said she would return from Florida to face charges once her husband was treated, police said.
