Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) personnel Jagraon arrested a woman, her son and two assistants in a drug trafficking case on February 11 and recovered 1,500 intoxicating pills, a motorcycle and a scooter in their possession .

The accused was identified as Paramjit Kaur from Hans Kalan village, his son Gagandeep Singh, his two assistants Ajaydeep Singh from Chowkimann village and Sukhwinder Singh from Dhatt village.

CIA Personnel Officer, Jagraon, Sub-Inspector Gursewak Singh, said police arrested the accused on the Aligarh-Jagraon road section, following a tip-off. “The defendants were heading towards Jagraon, on bicycles and scooters, when the police stopped them for verification. Upon searching, up to 1,500 intoxicating pills were recovered from their possession,” he said.

A case under Sections 22, 55 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) has been registered against the accused at Jagraon Police Station.
