Medical store owner detained with 5,482 banned pills in Yamunanagar


The anti-narcotics cell arrested a medical shop owner in Saraswati Nagar area who allegedly had 5,482 banned intoxicating capsules and tablets, a Yamunanagar police spokesman said on Sunday.

The man was identified as Kapil Goyal, alias Babbu, a local, who was sent to jail after appearing in court, cell official Rakesh Rana said.

“Up to 1,032 proxyvon capsules and 4,450 alprazolam tablets were seized in his possession. We arrested him on a tip that he was out for delivery. According to the initial investigation, he received these drugs from a local supplier. He owns a medical store, but did not sell the capsules there,” Rana added.

    Ruckus in Noida society by supporters after politician allegedly abused woman

    A row broke out late Sunday night when a group of supporters of a local politician broke into a company in Noida near Delhi. The incident happened at the Grand Omaxe company in Sector 93-B in Noida, where politician Shrikant Tyagi – who is on the run – has an apartment.
