Ryndon man jailed in shooting

ELKO — A Ryndon man was arrested for beating his mother, threatening to kill his wife and blowing holes in the roof of his van late Friday night.

Deputies were called to the Jacinto Drive residence following a report of a domestic dispute with shots fired. They found Jordan V. O’Dell, 27, standing outside the residence with two women and four children inside.

A “high-risk takedown” was carried out and O’Dell was “screaming and abusive” while in custody, according to a deputy’s statement.

Deputies determined he threw his mother to the ground and hit her on the head with a tire hammer after she asked him to leave his wife alone. His wife said he discharged a handgun to the ground and through the roof of his Dodge Ram pickup truck, but handed the gun to her before deputies arrived.
