SLO crash: car hits cyclist in hit-and-run accident

The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a teenage girl early Friday morning after she allegedly hit and injured a cyclist before fleeing the scene.

The driver, who was not identified by name because she is a minor, then hit the road, the statement said.

At 2 a.m., several residents of Rockview Place contacted police about “a car alarm sounding in the area.“, According to the press release.

“The agents intervened at the scene and discovered that the suspicious car was parked suspiciously on the roadway with damage compatible with the hit and run,” the city said.

Shortly after, officers found the suspect walking through the neighborhood and took her into custody, the statement said, charging her with two felonies: hit and run with injuries and driving under the influence of intoxicants. with injuries.

Kooi was taken to a local hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries, the statement said. The extent of his injuries was initially unclear.

The collision investigation is ongoing, the city said.
