Woman detained after 104 MTP kits, 28,230 drugs banned in Karnal were seized

The Karnal Police Criminal Investigation Agency seized 28,230 banned drugs and 104 medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) kits during a raid on a house in Karnal and arrested a woman in this connection.

According to the police, the CIA-II of the Karnal Police obtained information that Kamal Sikka, from Prem Nagar to Karnal, was involved in the supply of banned drugs and that he had brought a large quantity of intoxicants, from MTP kits and other drugs banned from Delhi.

He kept some medicine at home and went to provide the rest for someone.

Based on this credible information, a police team and drug authorities raided the house. A search carried out by the team resulted in the seizure of 13,000 banned tablets, 10,800 banned Tramadol capsules, 1,200 Alprazolam tablets, 2,880 Lomotil and 350 other banned tablets. Police arrested the accused’s wife.

The investigation also revealed that the accused had already been arrested in 2015 also by the Karnal police with banned drugs and that he was released from prison a few months ago after serving a five-year sentence.

A case has been registered in this regard and efforts are being made to arrest the main defendants and a further investigation is underway.
